Leadership Team
Our leadership team exists to serve the church, care for people, and help guide the life and direction of Community Church Longton. We believe leadership is about serving others, pointing people to Jesus, and helping create a healthy, welcoming church family.
Elders
Our elders provide spiritual leadership, prayer, and pastoral care for the church.

Andy & Angie King
Pastor & Elder / Elder
Hi, we’re Andy and Angie, and we have the privilege of leading Community Church Longton. We felt called by God to return from South Africa to lead the church, even when we were told it might not survive. Since then, we’ve seen God faithfully provide, grow the church, and change lives. We are passionate about building a church where Jesus is at the centre, where people from every background feel welcome, and where faith grows in everyday life. We’re married with five children and nine grandchildren. Andy enjoys walking, Angie enjoys reading, and we both enjoy a good coffee and a good conversation. We love spending time with people, investing in others, and seeing lives transformed through Jesus. More than anything, our heart is to build a church that reflects Jesus — where, if He walked in, He would feel at home.

Mike Selby
Elder
Hi, I’m Mike, and I serve as an elder at Community Church Longton. I’ve been part of the church for over 20 years, and I love being part of a community that truly feels like family. Over the years, it’s been a joy to see the church grow and to walk alongside people in their faith. As an elder, I help provide spiritual leadership, guidance, and practical support, with a heart to see the church thrive in a healthy and grounded way. I’m a dad to Lauren, and outside of church, I enjoy spending time in the garden and getting out into the great outdoors whenever I can. I’m passionate about building a church family that welcomes every generation and background — where people are united by a shared love for God and for one another. It’s a privilege to be part of all that God is doing in and through Community Church Longton.
Wider Leadership Team

Barry Elks
Worship Leader
Hi, I’m Barry, and I have the privilege of leading worship at Community Church Longton. I’m married to Margaret, and we have a daughter, a son, and seven amazing grandchildren. We’ve been part of the church for 19 years, and it really is home for us. I’m passionate about worshipping God — which definitely helps when I’m leading! I love seeing people encounter Jesus, especially when someone new begins to discover who He really is. Around 21 years ago, I made the decision to only listen to Christian music so that what I fill my life with has a positive impact — and that’s something that’s stayed with me ever since. Outside of church, I enjoy riding my motorbike and going on adventures in our campervan with Margaret. I love church life — meeting people, building relationships, and walking through life together. We all have tough days, but being part of Community Church Longton is a place where I can be myself, be encouraged, and know I’m loved.

Thakhani Greensmith
Worship Leader
Hi, I’m Thakhani, and I serve on the worship team at Community Church Longton. I’ve been part of the church family since 2019. I’m married to Shaun, and we have a son, George. We love spending time together as a family, especially going on little adventures — often getting happily lost along the way! I’m passionate about being in God’s presence and worshipping Him with our church family, especially through singing and dancing. I love helping create an atmosphere where people feel free to express their worship and encounter God in a real and personal way. I’m particularly passionate about leading people in worship and creating space for them to connect with God for themselves. There’s nothing better than seeing people grow in their faith and have their own personal experiences with Him. In my spare time, I enjoy arts and crafts, journaling, and making memories with my family.

Thembi Dube
Youth Pastor
Hi, I’m Thembi, and I serve as the Youth Pastor at Community Church Longton, as well as overseeing our Children’s Church. I first came to the church after my friend Lynn invited me during the COVID period, and I became part of the church family in 2022. I’m passionate about helping children and young people grow in their knowledge of God. I love creating spaces where they can build friendships, have fun, and feel safe and supported as they explore their faith. I also enjoy encouraging young people to connect with others their age and grow together in confidence and purpose. In my free time, I enjoy going on walks with my daughter — whether it’s exploring neighbourhoods (where she’s always planning our “next house!”) or spending time in the park and enjoying nature.

Judy Roebuck
Deacon
Hi, I’m Judy. I serve as a trustee and deacon at Community Church Longton. I lead our welcome team and help care for the practical needs of the building — setting up for services and making sure everything runs smoothly. God led me to CCL over 20 years ago. For the first five years, I travelled more than 20 miles from Macclesfield each week, until God made a way for me to move to Longton permanently. I have one daughter and three lovely grandchildren, and I enjoy listening to Christian music and reading in my spare time. I’m passionate about God and His church, and I long to see revival in Longton and beyond — so that many more people can come to know Jesus. In 2016, after returning from a holiday in Poland, I became seriously ill with swine flu, which led to double pneumonia, sepsis, and multiple organ failure. Doctors told my family to say goodbye. But what they didn’t understand is that prayer works. I had a powerful encounter with Jesus and was not only brought back to life, but restored stronger than before.
