Children enjoying a creative activity together

What happens on Sunday?

Children begin the morning with their parents and the rest of the church. They stay with us for the first part of the service before heading upstairs with our Children’s team.

Once upstairs, the children have their own time together, with worship, Bible teaching, crafts, activities and plenty of fun. We want Sunday mornings to be somewhere children enjoy coming, while discovering more about Jesus and building good friendships.

Safe, welcoming and fun

We want every child to feel welcome, included and secure. Our children’s team provides a safe and caring environment where children can relax, make friends and enjoy learning about Jesus.

We take safeguarding seriously, with clear arrangements for children while they are in our care and for returning them safely to their parents or carers.

What parents need to know

People worshipping at Community Church Longton

Our Sunday children’s groups welcome children aged 3–11.

The children begin together for worship, with time to sing, join in and enjoy being together. They then split into two age groups:

Light of the World — ages 3–6
Christ 4 Real — ages 7–11

Each group enjoys teaching from the Bible, crafts, activities and fun suited to their age. Everything is designed to help children discover more about Jesus, build friendships and enjoy being part of church.

If it’s your first Sunday, our children’s team will welcome you, explain how everything works and help your child settle in.
